The Quay House
About This Spot
Nestled right by the gentle hum of The Harbour in Kinlochbervie, The Quay House invites you into a softly glowing world where time slows down just enough to savor moments. The warmth of its cozy interior, sprinkled with fresh flowers and thoughtful touches, welcomes locals and visitors alike into a relaxed, homely nook. Whether you’ve just returned from a morning’s fishing trip or a long walk along the rugged coastline, it offers a quiet breath, a place to settle and feel quietly seen.
The pace here mirrors the ebb and flow of the sea just beyond its windows—unrushed, comfortable, and inviting. You’ll find a space where families mingle with early risers enjoying their breakfast; the hum of friendly conversations rises gently beneath a soundtrack of well-chosen music. The atmosphere is intimate without feeling small, filled with honest warmth from a staff that remembers names and smiles genuinely.
Food at The Quay House never feels like just a transaction but rather an invitation to pause and enjoy something made with care. The scent of freshly baked scones still warm from the oven often drifts on the air, alongside the tempting aroma of classic seaside dishes like just-caught fish turned into perfectly crisped fish and chips. The menu, featuring heartier breakfasts and comforting homemade treats, carries a sense of local presence and thoughtful simplicity, keeping both grown-ups and little ones happily satisfied.
Adjacent to this welcoming café is a charming gift shop, a treasure trove of thoughtful finds and keepsakes, offering another layer of discovery as you linger. It’s a place where practical comforts like a baby changing room stocked with thoughtful essentials are part of the gentle attentiveness that runs quietly through the entire experience.
Whether pausing here after a dip, before heading out again, or simply seeking a comforting spot to watch the harbour rhythm, The Quay House feels like kin—a friendly hand on the shoulder, a peaceful corner of the world where stories are shared and new memories take root.

Food 1st class, great service, stunning deco. Feels homy and cosy. Staff helpful and super nice. Children friendly. Small souvenir shop beside. Highly recommended. Baby changing room even had nappies and eco-friendly wet wipes available. Sweet they have fresh flowers on the tables, a lovely touch.

Delicious food, nice music, friendly waitresses. We took 2 chicken burgers around 12.45. No need to have dinner in the evening. Full meal good flavors, French frites. Nice place to sit, eat en rest a little. While hubby is gone fishing at the other side of the road at the Harbour. 5 thumbs up.

Always a warm welcome, always tidy, always clean, always delicious food. A great place to relax after a big walk or a dive or after fishing. Cheese scones straight from the oven are extra-special.

This is the loveliest restaurant , serving the best fish & chips.....fresh from the sea! Their home-baking is scrumptious and milkshakes are amazing too. The gift shop is a treasure trove of stunning gifts for all occasions. All staff were super friendly and so attentive. Great value for money. Keep being amazing

We sat outside as we had our dog with us. They very kindly brought out a outside table set as it had been raining and their outside seating area had been packed away. They brought fresh water for Doughnut and looked after us nicely. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious.

What a wonderful surprise to find this cafe/lunch restaurant (and gift shop) in an area which quite frankly has been crying out for a bit of investment ! Great coffee, cakes and the fish and chips were superb. Hope they prosper & hope folk local & tourists appreciate it too (brill to see a bit of get up & go in these remote parts)
